Critical History
This threedimensional bozzetto is 39cm high it might be the draft for 1 of 4 sculptures Straub was ordered to create for the Garden of Nymphenburg Castle. The other sculptures represented Jupiter, Mars and Minerva. Straub received the order the 14th April 1766. He was payed for 4 modellos in 1770 with 120fl.1 The sculpture shows a young woman in a selfconscious and nonchalant pose. She is dressed in a somehow erotic way and shows her beautiful body.
The sculpture has the inv. no. Ker 398. The number of the photo is D 68336.
