Final Meeting of the TrArS project in Graz

On October 2nd 2019, after the international Conference and the presentation of the publication Tracing the Art of the Straub Family, the round table with the final meeting took place in a conference room at the University of Graz organised by Dr. Eva Klein, Christina Pichler BA BA MA and Prof. Margit Stadlober of the institute of Art History at University of Graz.

Joseph Straub and Joseph Holzinger – an archival confirmation of succession of Straub's workshop

Valentina Pavlič, PhD student in art history and one of the members in TrArS project, found a new archival source – a contract about a purchase of Joseph Straub’s workshop rights. This contract answers the question about the succession of the Straub's workshop and also sheds light on collaboration between Joseph Straub and Joseph Holzinger.

The Monograph “Tracing the Art of the Straub Family”

The monograph, published in September 2019, brings together the results of two years of interdisciplinary research conducted during the implementation of the international project Tracing the Art of the Straub Family. The monograph contains expert and scientific texts on the context of the work, history and artworks of the Straub family of artists, as well as chapters presenting the latest results of specialist research into particular works of art carried out during the project in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

TrArS in Velika Ludina

After the exhibition Height of the Baroque Era: Art of the Straub family in the former Zagreb Archdiocese was opened in the Domitrović Tower in Zagreb, connections with art works preserved in churches continued with the presentation of the high altar of St Michael the Archangel in the parish church dedicated to that saint in Velika Ludina. This altar is the greatest and most monumental work of Franz Anton Straub.
