Critical History
The so-called "House Madonna" (inv. no. is 50/113) is a relief with a bust of Maria holding Jesus as a little child in her right arm. Some clouds are beyond her body two putti are flying in front of the scene. The relief was created by J. B. Straub for the facade of the house he bought in Munich in 1741 in Hackenstreet 10. Volk dates it in 1759. On the backside the year 1759 and ST is carved into the wood.1

Construction / Execution
The relief is carved in oakwood with rests of polychromy. Its height is 99cm.
