Critical History
Volk presumes that J. B. Straub worked at least from 1765-1769 for Altomünster. The sculpture of St Dominicus and St Catherine of Siena belonged to the former lower choiraltar which was replaced in 1883.1 Lippert lists the equipment of the monasterychurch St Alto and St Birgitta under no. 61.#N-2 The sculpture of St Dominicus (height 161cm) is kneeling on its left knee. In the right hand he is holding a burning torch the left hand seems opened to hold something. The sculpture of St Catherine of Siena is kneeling on both knees she is holding both hands in front of her breast.

The sculptures are carved in wood and have a polychrome painting layer.
