Critical History

Ornament in form of a vase (1760) was purchased by the Bavarian National Museum in 1952 from a private collection (Peter Radspieler) The inv.-no. is 52/46. The photo has the no. D1736.

Construction / Execution

The vase is standing on a base comparable to that of a chalice. Out of the a form looking like the opening of a snail shell are growing ears of wheat and a bust with wings. The vase is made in gilded and silvered limewood.
